Based in Ventura and deeply embedded in the creative fabric of the Ventura, Oxnard, Ojai and Santa Barbara communities, Martha Picciotti has been a trusted name in residential architecture for over two decades. As the founder of Picciotti Design, she is known for crafting custom homes and thoughtful renovations that elevate everyday living.
Martha was born and raised along the rugged coastline of Boston, Massachusetts where the sculptural interplay between land and sea first shaped her understanding of form and place. That early love of the outdoors still drives her work - her houses feel organically connected to the land and their surroundings.
With a BA in Art from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master’s in Architecture from UCLA’s School of Urban Planning and Architecture, Martha brings both artistic intuition and technical expertise to her practice. Prior to founding her firm, she honed her skills at top residential architecture studios in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.
Martha established Picciotti Design in 1999 with a clear vision: to create beautiful functional spaces that engage the senses and promote wellbeing. In 2002 she brought that vision to life with the design and construction of her own home and studio on Ventura’s hillside - a living portfolio of indoor/outdoor flow and site-sensitive architecture.
Her work spans both traditional and contemporary styles, reflecting her belief that great architecture is never one size fits all. A lifelong artist and dedicated potter, Martha approaches designing homes the same way she approaches working with clay - with meticulous attention to form, volume, scale, and textures. Each project is shaped through collaboration with the client, the land, and the rhythms of daily life.
